Eye Candy aka What Happened to Spring?

Spring has been here the past few days with temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s. But last night, the NWS issued both a flood watch and a winter storm watch for the area. The Weather Channel was saying that we might receive up to 7 inches of snow. Other weather forecasts were mixed. Basically, it all meant that no one knew what we were going to be getting. I went last night and it was raining on and off. This morning, I awoke to the sound of sleet hitting the metal porch roof. (I love the sound of rain o metal roofs.) And about two hours later it was snowing. Right now it is a sleet/snow/ice mixture. The roads are a huge mess and people are driving like the roads are dry. And yes, there are accidents galore. But since my commute to work involves walking a matter of less than 500 feet, I don’t have to worry.

But spring is coming. I have seen my daffodils pop their heads out and check the weather today. p3160018.JPGp3160020.JPG

  1. Hiya… I find it funny that we’ll be getting similar weather from tomorrow onwards… probably the time the storm needs to travel across the Atlantic Ocean hehehe.
Over here even the Magnolia trees are blooming (as I noticed yesterday). I hope all those blooming plants will survive the coldspell.
    Cheers Eva

  2. I watched with the weather yesterday with a mixture of disappointment (the fine Spring weather is gone) and excitement (it’s going to snow!). In the end, the snow gets me every time. I used to like the sound of rain on a metal roof, until the roof developed multiple serious leaks. We’ve finally fixed it, but I think it’s going to be another year before I listen to the rain without also listening for the telltale “drip drip.”

  3. what bizarre weather – good that your “commute” is so wonderful (smile)
