I went to the free night at the Great Frederick Fair even though it was raining. It was drizzling when I got there but I decided to go on in. It ended up pouring rain after I got to the fair grounds but it came in waves so I was able to wander the fair grounds. I only ever found one of my friends from my photo group. But being a fiber person, I did mange to find the fiber tent. The fair has a tent set up with fiber and encourages people to touch. And it turns out that I know the ladies in charge of the tent. Stephanie was needing some volunteers for the weekend days. And maybe a few nights. You get a free parking pass and entrance to the fair in exchange for working. And since I couldn’t think of anything else better to do on a hot weekend, I said I would.
I am still recovering from spending a very hot weekend in the tent so I will entertain you with some of the photos from the fair. And btw, my criteria for going into an animal barn was that the animal had to provide fiber that could be spun or knit. So there are no cow photos. I did find hand spun yarn to buy and I traded some yarns for some hand spun but those photos and details will be saved for later this week.
And there has been knitting going on at the fair. I have completed two cowls while knitting at the fair. No photos of them though. They have been gifted to some of the children in the barns. If I can get another one done, I will try to get one modeled shot for the blog.
